Big Kenny

Another version of big Kenny done yesterday, i got 25L at 1047. Also when the boil was on i kegged my last brew "Gold Fever".
I'm planning on brewing the exact same Big Kenny recipe next week but with a liquid yeast (Wyeast #1335 British Ale II) just to see what all the fuss is about with liquid yeast as i've never used it before, probably because i was to tight to pay for it. I'll make a starter from it on Thursday and hopefully brew again next Saturday

Gold Fever

With summer seemingly in full swing i decided to do another golden ale, this one is very closely related to my house ale Fools Gold, i ended up with 25 L @ 1052 and i stopped sparging @1028 which should really improve the body and indeed the quality of the finished product

6kg Golden Promise
250g Melanoidin
300g Carapils
200G Biscuit

Cascade 8.6% 15 g 60 mins
Nelson Sauvin 13.3% 15g 30 mins
Super Syrians 4.9% 25g 30 mins

37grm of Nelson Sauvin 13.3% added at 80 degrees after flame out, also i turned off the cooler at this stage for about 12 mins to give them a chance to add some aroma to the ale
