I got my 70L thermo box and my two 70L stock pots from Nordic Optical yesterday and today i ordered my PID controllers, SSRs, probes and ball valves, most of the rest of the gear i need i can source locally. I had originally planned on building a 100L system but i decided on brewing 50L batches because 100L of the same beer is a bit much even for a thirsty punter like myself. I don't expect my system to be finished any time soon but i can start on fitting the ball valves next weekend and maybe build the heat exchanger. I'll keep the blog updated as i go

Nelson Sauvin Ale
Although it's a high alpha hop Nelson Sauvin is a smooth bittering hop, i made a mistake while brewing this and it ended up about 90 IBUs instead of 35 IBUs but because of the hops mild bitterness i seem to have got away with it. There was no finings used in this brew or any brew i do except for a whirfloc tablet 10 mins from the end of the boil and still it has cleared great. I'm looking forward to messing about with this hop in the future.
